This October, Spinnaker Radio and Spinnaker Media are joining hundreds of college radio stations worldwide to celebrate the 12th annual World College Radio Day and the unique medium of college radio. World College Radio Day celebrates the important contribution college radio makes to the media landscape. College radio isn’t just about highlighting alternative and independent music; it’s also about creating community and providing students with an experiential learning opportunity.
About Spinnaker Radio and Spinnaker Media
Spinnaker Radio is the University of North Florida’s non-commercial, educational student-run radio station, broadcasting on air as WSKR-LP 95.5FM and online via spinnakerradio.com and TuneIn. Spinnaker Radio’s mission is to provide an authentic, hands-on broadcast experience for UNF students and to offer the UNF community with original and entertaining programming created primarily by UNF students.
Spinnaker Radio is part of Spinnaker Media, the University of North Florida’s student-run news and media outlet. Spinnaker Media provides the UNF community with news, entertainment, and a forum for the exchange of ideas, while also operating as a learning lab for students to gain practical experience in all aspects of the media industry.
